5-Minute Avocado Toast

Ingredients

  • 2 thick slices Sourdough bread slices
  • 1 large Ripe avocado
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • Pinch Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Everything bagel seasoning
  • Pinch Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

    Toast the sourdough bread slices until crispy and golden.

    While bread toasts, mash the avocado in a bowl with lemon juice and salt.

    Spread the mashed avocado evenly on the toasted bread.

    Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning and red pepper flakes if using.

Avocado Selection Tips

  • Perfect ripeness: The avocado should yield slightly to gentle pressure but not be mushy
  • Color check: Look for dark, almost black skin with no soft spots
  • The stem test: If you can easily flick off the small stem and it’s green underneath, it’s ripe
  • Storage: Keep ripe avocados in the fridge for 2-3 extra days
